Background shots for the film were made by a Hollywood crew at the Dartmouth Winter Carnival in February. Duplicate sets will be constructed in Hollywood where necessary, although as much of the original locale as possible will be retained. Budd W. Schulberg '36 is author of the story which Mr. Wanger is using.
Miss Sheridan plays the part of a former Carnival Queen, while Mr. Carlson is cast in the role of a young English instructor at Dartmouth. After acfing in stock companies, Carlson played the lead opposite Ethel Barrymore in White Oaks, and then went to Hollywood where he played the romantic lead opposite Janet Gaynor in The Young in Heart and was featured in Edward Small's production of Duke of West Point. He was selected for the male lead in Winter Carnival after Walter Wanger had attended a performance of Stars in Your Eyes while in New York on his way to the Dartmouth Carnival.
