NEWS of the greatest importance to Dartmouth men in the Philadelphia area has just been received. Negotiations to move our headquarters to the Yale Club were completed on May 10, and the change will be made on June 1. The Yale Club occupies the entire 8th floor of the University Club, 16th and Locust Streets, and by joining with them we acquire the use of greater facilities than we have ever been able to provide heretofore. Luncheons will be held as in the past on Tuesdays at 12:30, the first luncheon in our new home being on June 6. We look forward to this new association with great anticipation and invite every alumnus to make use of our new quarters. Once a year a group of the Philadelphia
alumni have the unusual privilege of being the guests of "Doc" Sewall '99, at Bridgeton, N. J. Unable to attend many of the gatherings at Philadelphia because of distance and the urgency of his profession, "Doc" makes up for it by throwing a bang-up party of an afternoon of golf on the sporty Cohanset course, dinner and a grand evening of toasts, reminiscences and song. Thirty made the trip down on May 9 and, despite a dirty turn in the weather, had one more unforgettably good time, arriving home, as usual, very late, very weary, but very contented and already looking forward to next spring.
On May 26, The Dartmouth Club will encounter the Cornell Club in the annual tournament to determine who will have possession of the cup for the next twelve-month. For several years the cup has been won alternately and the friendly rivalry is fast becoming traditional; the Overbrook course will again be the battlground. A dinner will follow the contest and what will come after that or when the last man will straggle home, no one would dare predict. If you will look at this column in the early fall issue, however, your scribe will try to remember to have the statistics on hand as well as a report on the summer's activities.
