Valedictory Speaker
June 1939

RODGER S. HARRISON '39, Senior Fellow from New York City, has been chosen to deliver the valedictory address to the College at the final Commencement exercises on Sunday evening, June 18. In marked departure from the customary program of past Commencements, Harrison's brief farewell in behalf of the graduating class will be the only undergraduate address during the exercises.

As another change in the Commencement speaking program, President Hopkins this year will deliver his valedictory to the seniors at the final exercises rather than at the Baccalaureate service on Sunday morning. Harrison's farewell, the awarding of bachelor degrees, and President Hopkins' valedictory are scheduled in that order.

In addition to being a Senior Fellow, Harrison is vice president of the graduating class, president of the Interfraternity Council, and a member of Palaeopitus, the Glee Club, Delta Kappa Epsilon, and Casque and Gauntlet. He was named valedictory speaker by the Committee on Commencement in conference with senior class officers.
