Golden Wedding

The first Golden Wedding Anniversary in the class of 1889 was celebrated June 25 by the family and numerous friends of Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Kingsbury at their home in Wollaston, (Quincy) Mass. Because of Mr. Kingsbury's recent hospital experience (successfully ended a few days earlier) the reception was informal. All the children and half the grandchildren were present. The Secretary represented '89 and many of the other men sent letters or telegrams. D. N. B. '89.

Blanchard took part in the celebration of the 200 th anniversary of the founding of the Congregational Church in Salem, N. H., August 25. This is the church in which Blanchard preached during the greater part of his student days in Andover Theological Seminary, 1889-1892.

....After the service, he called on Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Hobbs, Pelham, N. H. Mrs. Hobbs had recently been ill but was better and visited friends in a near-by town in the afternoon. In the evening, she died suddenly from a heart attack. Blanchard, ho was at his summer home, Tyngsboro, Mass., conducted the funeral service, August 28.

Arthur Chase, in the earlier half of Summer, with his two daughters, visited Yellowstone Park, San Francisco, Yosemite Park, the Grand Canyon and spent two weeks with son and brother in Albuquerque. They were back in their cottage on the Sound, Branford, Conn., for September.

E. B. Davis spent a busy Summer in Brunswick, Maine. The Atlantic Ocean and the Bowdoin College Library were the special attractions. Our sympathies go to Flagg whose only brother died in August after a very long illness.

The Secretary called on Dr. and Mrs. Noyes in Plymouth (Mass.) in August. Nat had just recovered from what he called a minor accident, a fall. Fortunately, injuries were not serious but a two weeks' "vacation" was necessary.

A reception for O. S. Warden was held at the family home—for the past 51 yearsin Great Falls, Montana, August 19. This da'te was the 75th anniversary of Warden's birth in New Hampshire. The Secretary regrets (1) that he was not able to be present and (2) that the newspaper report of the event has not yet been received. Even so, we send congratulations and best wishes.

Secretary, 87 Milk St., Boston, Mass.
