Again this month we find it necessary to report the passing of a '93 man. Charles Gordon died at his home in Newton Center, Mass., September 33, and funeral services were held on the 26th. No member of the class will be more greatly missed than Charles, and while he was unable to attend our 40th and 45th reunions, many members of the Class were in more or less close touch with him. Attending the funeral services were Judge and Mrs. Frederick N. Chandler, President Guy W. Cox, Mr. and Mrs. George B. Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. George E. Greeley, and W. G. Aborn.

President Cox is the author of Life Insurance Investment Performs a Public Service which appeared in the NEW YORK JOURNAL OF COMMERCE June 25. Reprints of this have had wide distribution. It is well worthwhile reading.

A very pleasant noon luncheon visit with Rufus Baker at Concord, N. H. brought out the information that his children are pretty well scattered, with his youngest boy left at home.

About the same time, a Sunday call on the Rev. and Mrs. Kinney at Ellsworth Falls, Maine, found them both busy with church work, and very well indeed. "The Deacon" was in fine spirits. They would be very glad to see any '93 men who might be passing through Ellsworth Falls, which is on Route 1 to Bar Harbor and Eastern Maine.

Our Secretary Emeritus sends word that Mrs. Samuel P. French of West Lebanon, N. H., attended her class reunion at Smith during the Commencement season; and also that in June, under the heading FiftyYears Ago Today the Portsmouth, N. H. HERALD stated that Herbert C. Leach of that city, a student at Dartmouth College, accepted a position as clerk at the Hotel Pocahontas. This was fifty years ago—just think of it.

A call on the Rowells at their home in Everett resulted in a very nice visit with Mrs. Rowell, from whom it was learned that John retires at the end of this school year and also that of their daughters, Jean is at the Sargent School and Margaret at Simmons College, specializing in Social Science. Both girls have been very active and proficient in tennis and other athletics. Word has come that the Jonathan Childs have changed their residence from Wallingford, Connecticut to 11 Maplewood Terrace, Norwalk, Connecticut.

Prosperity beams from Dr. George Pender, as indicated by a call at his office in September. He is rotund and cheerful, and what doctor wouldn't be with his waiting room filled with patients? "Zack" Chandler reports all well with them.

This job of getting items for the Class Notes would be much more pleasant, and the notes would be much more interesting if the '93 men who live at a distance would take it upon themselves to send the Acting Secretary a letter occasionally. It is comparatively easy for him to get information about those living within a radius of 100 miles or so from Boston, but you men in the south, west, and middle west are so remote that only through letters from you can the other men know about you. Let us hear from you.
