THE DARTMOUTH CLUB OF MAINE held a quarterly meeting in the Cumberland Club, Portland, Maine, on May 16 with Carrell K. Pierce '29, president, presiding, assisted by William Ban ton '16, Captain Albert Cleveland '15, and R. E. Moulton '35, vice president, secretary and treasurer, respectively.

H. Daniel Lakeman '96 reported on the successful progress of the newly founded Maine Scholarship Fund, and Theodore Johnson gave an interesting report on the activities of his scholarship committee. Doctor Thomas A. Foster spoke on the worthiness of the Alumni Fund and urged the club's support. Captain Albert Cleveland gave a very complete resume of the Secretaries Association's meeting in Hanover in May. It was voted to send a word of congratulations to Reverend Omar W. Folsom 1869, of Bath, Maine, on his ninetysixth birthday.

The principal speaker of the evening was William H. McCarter 'l9, Director of Athletics at the College. He gave greetings and a word from the College reporting on the good health of the president and touched on the growth of the College, the excellence of existing intercollegiate relationships, the prospects from the 1940 football eleven, and the marvelous success of the 1940 basketball team.
