Postum for the Coffee Nerves of China

China's worst enemy may be Japan, but if you've ever read Postum ads you know that coffee nerves are any man's and any country's enemy. And one of Big Bob Prentice's jobs is to sell postum to the Chinese. Over on Park Ave. in the Postum Bldg. there's a large private office with a smooth top mahogany desk, two telephones, water carafe, and a broad expanse of ankle-deep carpet (not linoleum like in your office—yeh, Wendell Willkie uses "like" in the wrong place too). The man behind the desk is Bob Prentice, export advertising manager for General Foods. Maybe you can't get excited about selling Post-Toasties to kanakas in Hawaii or milk chocolate to Boers in South Africa, but he can. He can tell you about coffee consumption in Ceylon or grape nut flake sales in Korea.

This column is not paid advertising, but it seems only fair to mention that a man with a good job like that has been living for two years with Dick Hefler and Bill Mc Laughlin. No wonder he is looking for a change.
