DENNIS J. HALLISEY, chief of police in Hanover since 1927, died at the Mary Hitchcock Hospital on February 288 following a heart attack while on duty. He was 66 years old.

Chief Hallisey was born in Nashua, N. H., on June 1, 1874, and at the age of 1a went to work in a shoe factory. He continued in that industry until 1908 when he began 19 years of service on the Nashua police force, rising during that period through the positions of sergeant and plain-clothes inspector. He was invited to Hanover as Chief in 1927. In 1907-08 Chief Hallisey served as a member of the New Hampshire State Legislature.

Funeral services were held in Nashua on March g at St. Patrick's Church. State officials and an honorary police cordon paid their respects to Chief Hallisey.
