The State of Washington is a distant outpost, and a visitor from Hanover is such a rare treat that for most of us such an occasion is equivalent to being literally lifted out of our day-to-day experience and transported back to the campus. We continually regret the necessary infrequency of such gatherings and as a consequence we enjoy them to the full.
