TENTATIVE ENROLLMENT figures on September 15, one day after the start of the new fall term, gave the College an undergraduate total of 1,996. This compares with undergraduate enrollment of 2,342 last September and of 2,355 at start of the fall semester two years ago.
This fall's freshman class numbers 596 men, the smallest first-year class since 1928. Its total is made up of 211 men who matriculated in July and 385 who entered in September. The sophoore class totals 551, the junior class 447, and the senior class 390.
