JOAQUIN AGUIRRE LAVAYAN of La Paz, Bolivia, one of a number of outstanding Bolivian students who are taking up special studies in American colleges under the sponsorship of the Institute of International Education, arrived in Hanover late in January to enroll as a special student for the second semester.
Mr. Aguirre, who was in his second year at the School of Law and Political Science of the University "San Andres" in La Paz, was at the same time associated with the Ministry of Foreign Relations. A native of Cochabamba, Bolivia, he attended both the "Instituto Americano" and "Colegio La Salle" there, receiving a bachelor's degree from the latter in 1939. At Dartmouth, Mr. Aguirre is taking three courses in political science, sociology and economic geography.
