HE WAS WRITING an obituary notice of his classmate Frank H. Hardison when he was taken suddenly ill and died. It was characteristic of Dr. Henry H. Piper '76 that his final efforts in life were directed toward the College. He had served as secretary of his class and class agent and treasurer for 25 years. He was one of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE'S best friends and most cordial supporters. Dr. Piper lived a full and active life of nearly 90 years, and one in which Dartmouth played a large part through the time, energy, and thought which he gave without stint to its affairs. He was truly one of our elder statesmen and he will be very greatly missed.
