IN AT LEAST ONE OF ITS ISSUES each year the editors of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE want to emphasize undergraduate writing and activity. In these pages this month we are glad to record the brief but rapid and promising development of the Dartmouth Broadcasting System which reaches the student body through a campus network. William J. Mitchel Jr. '42 was one of the founders of DBS a year ago and has served as station manager this year. His account of student radio is carried in this issue. Our own opinion is that this modern and logical means of communication will continue to bring the faculty, officers, and students of the College closer together.
Edward J. Rasmussen '42, a member of the editorial directorate of The Dartmouth this year writes the UndergraduateChair in which he records this month something of the tremendous changes in attitudes and problems and activities that have been made in student life in recent months. We know that no subject is of greater interest to the alumni than what the undergraduates are thinking and doing. We are grateful to Mr. Rasmussen for his valued contribution to this number of the MAGAZINE.
