1897 Presents Portrait

A PORTRAIT of the late Prof. John M. Poor '97, who was a member of the Mathematics and Astronomy Department at Dartmouth from 1898 until his death in 1933, has been presented to the College by the Class of 1897 and has been hung in the Shattuck Observatory, where Professor Poor carried on his work for so many years.

The portrait was painted recently by Mrs. Janet Folsom of Wollaston, Mass.., and was exhibited at -the Carpenter Galleries during the reunion of the Class of 1897 in May.
