On the following Saturday the Big Green eleven traveled to Philadelphia to face a highly favored Pennsylvania squad. Although they outplayed, outpassed, and outran the Quakers, the Indians were the victims of bad breaks and questionable officiating which forced them to finish up on the short end of a 7-6 score.

Pennsylvania opened the scoring late in the first period when they recovered a Dartmouth fumble on the Big Green 35-yard stripe. Bob Odell and Joe Kane alternated on running plays to move the ball down to the four yard line where an obvious offside play against the Quakers was called. However, the officials counted the penalty off against Dartmouth and placed the ball down on the one-yard line where Joe Kane rushed it over on the next play. Frank McKernan kicked the all-important extra point for the Quakers.

The Indians were consistently threatening throughout the game but were unable to push the ball across until late in the fourth period when Kasprzak faded deep to toss a long pass to Larry Bartnick on the 2-yard line who crashed over the goal line just inside fair territory for the Dartmouth touchdown. Hal Clayton's try for the extra point was wide.

Dartmouth lost several chances to score, and on two occasions Kasprzak's passes were dropped in the end zone. Kasprzak also galloped 66 yards to score after receiving a lateral from Larry Bartnick on a punt return, but official ruled that Bartnick had been stopped and the play was called back. Halfway through the second period Dartmouth failed to score on two attempts from the Pennsylvania one-yard line, and was forced to give the ball up on downs.
