What with pleasure driving out of the picture and fuel oil being used only when new tenants are inspecting vacant suites, the writer finds himself huddled over his typewriter with overcoat and ear-muffs on and watching the curtains wave in the wintry gale coming in through the windows. News filtered in slowly this past month from near and far and if only I could go out and pick some more off the nearby trees, it would be a Godsend. Karl now claims that he "eats like an angry vacuum cleaner," which speaks very well for Ginney's cooking, to say the least; the last I knew, Karl was limiting himself to 35 cents a day on food in Hanover in order to supply the where- withal to install a new set of fog lights on his horseless carriage.
