BECAUSE STUDENT OFFICERS in the Naval Training School at Dartmouth have little time for reading newspapers or listening to the radio, College faculty members have inaugurated a series of short supperhour talks to keep the busy officers posted on national and international developments. These 15-minute talks are given twice a week and also include a 10-minute question period.
The opening talk, on February 12, was presented by Prof. Harold R. Bruce of the political science department. Other speakers in the series include Dr. Wing-tsit Chan, visiting lecturer in Chinese civilization; Prof. John G. Gazley of the history department; Dr. Dimitri von Mohrenschildt, visiting lecturer in Russian civilization; and Prof. Robert K. Carr '29 of the political science department.
