Meet Colonel "Pat," who is Adjutant General at the Headquarters of the Second Army, Office of the Commanding General, Memphis, Tennessee. Says Pat, "I am still stationed here at Memphis, although I hope some day to get orders for overseas. I receive my copy of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE each month. I am very proud of the number of Dartmouth men who are now in the armed forces, as well as those who are holding responsible governmental positions. With best wishes to all the class."
Some classmates will recall making contributions to a fund to be loaned to a classmate's son that he might be able to finish his senior year at Dartmouth. It will be of interest to them to know that the loan has been repaid in full and has been deposited by the treasurer, Ed Keeler, to be held for some other worthy use. You will be interested in what this chap wrote in forwarding the check. "I am very grateful to you for your kind help, and I want you to know that I at least feel it was money well spent, inasmuch as my year at Tuck always appears to me to have been the most valuable of my four years in Hanover. It is true that the other three years were very pleasant, but it wasn't until my last year that I really started to find out what 'goes on'; I'm still finding out."
