The fact that Burnham has not won more races this season can be attributed in great measure to his youth. He just reached 20 during the winter season, while all of his competitors, except Dixon, are out of college and have been running for several more years.
The track team as a whole has had only one dual meet, in which it ran roughshod over the University of New Hampshire team, 73-35. 800 Morcum of the losers was the individual star as he won the broad jump, the high jump, and the pole vault to collect 15 points, but aside from these and the 2-mile, the Indian runners won every event and in several made a clean sweep of the three scoring places. Burnham easily won the mile in slow time, while Dick Whiting and Fred Daly took first places, the former in the 600-yard run and the latter in the 200-yard run. One more meet with Holy Cross remains on the schedule before the winter season is officially closed.
