June 1943 WALTER M. MAY

Honors to Walter Rogers of Detroit, Michigan, who has two sons in the armed forces. John, the oldest, is boatswain's mate, 1st class, in the U. S. Coast Guard and has been stationed at Hancock, Michigan, since his enlistment last July. John had been a very valuable associate of Walter in his business as manufacturer's agent. William, the second son, aged 19, had basic training in aviation at St. Petersburg, Florida, and is taking further training at Lowry Field near Denver, Colorado. He had just completed the first year at Western State College in Michigan prior to enlistment.

Several members of the Class will remember the two Rogers boys from a former meeting. We should like to hear something about the two Rogers daughters.

Walter is looking forward to the Class Reunion in 1945 and extends best wishes to the Class.

In an earlier issue we incorrectly elevated Shirley Cunningham to the presidency of Prentice Hall Company. Shirley has kindly called the error to our attention and reminds us that he is a vice president of that organization. Sorry, Shirley, but '05 men hope that the slip will in due time prove to have been prophetic.

Honors to Roger Whittemore Brown, whose son, Roger W. Brown Jr. is now a colonel stationed at Camp Hale, Colorado. He is engaged to Miss Shirley Ayer of Lexington, Massachusetts.

Edward Richardson is Vice Chief Air Raid Warden in Dover, New Hampshire. Edward supervises the activities of the Dover Report Center. Word reaches us that he devotes a great deal of time to the post and is very conscientious and efficient in the discharge of his duties.

Honors to Edward and Mrs. Richardson, whose son, John, is with the Military Police at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Aberdeen, Maryland.

Lafayette Chamberlain and Bob Harding hail the coming of spring and the opportunity to go down to their cottages on the Cape on the weekends.

Through James C. Bingham '18, who has recently come to Concord to take a position as representative of the Boston and Maine Railroad, word comes that Stillman Batchelder's daughter is teaching physical education at the Elmwood-Franklin School in Buffalo, New York. Stillman is reported to continue his interest in his native town of Littleton, New Hampshire. Since he is not in the best of health, a word from '05 brothers would be most welcome.

Fletcher A. Hatch, our efficient Class Agent, hopes that all '05 men will contribute to the Alumni Fund.

The Secretary will be pleased to receive Class Dues and subscriptions to the ALUMNIMAGAZINE from those who have not paid for 1942-43.

The revered Professor John K. Lord taught us that "Bis dat, cito dat."

Secretary, 14 Holt St., Concord, N. H.
