THE COMPLETE Dartmouth War Directory, which lists 6,262 alumni now on active duty in the armed services, begins on page 17 and is the main feature of this issue. It includes the list of Dartmouth men killed in service, page 19, and is followed, on page 29, by a directory of Dartmouth men engaged in government war work.

The inauguration of the new Navy V-12 Unit in Hanover is described on page 16 in an article which tells how Dartmouth is caring for the 2,000 trainees who were ordered here on July 1.

President Hopkins' Convocation address, the first ever to be presented in the Bema, appears in full, beginning on page 9. The latest information concerning the Dartmouth members in the King's Royal Rifle Regiment is given in the feature Celer atAuclax, on page 30.

More Dartmouth heroes are acclaimed this month in the regular feature Laureled Sonsof Dartmouth, on page 12 . This is followed on page 13 by Professor West's popular column of letters from men in the service, 'Roundthe Girdled Earth.

The Undergraduate Chair, on page 37, gets a new outlook this issue, for its author, George H. Tilton III, is now an apprentice seaman in the V-12 Unit here in Hanover. Latest news on Dartmouth athletics is given in GreenTeams, on page 38
