A sense of great loss has filled'the hearts of all classmates in the death of Grace Sanborn, at the Crawford House, in the White Mountains, where, with Dr. Sanborn, she was enjoying their annual vacation.

Grace Sanborn was a loyal and devoted friend of all the men of '87. In ancestry, breeding and tradition, she was representative of the finest type of New England womanhood. She was always present at our reunions, and her beautiful arrangement of flowers at our headquarters will always be affectionately remembered. Our heartfelt sympathy goes to her bereaved family.

The death of another classmate, Eugene Head of Hookset, N. H., has been announced by the college. The secretary has been unable to get any details, but hopes for a more complete record later. A biographical sketch will appear in the November number of this MAGAZINE.

One of the happiest episodes of the festivities at the golden wedding of the secretary and his mate was the early appearance of Classmate Howland. He came several hours before the beginning of the party. We discovered him looking over our little village to find something to eat. No public eating place existing, he came to us, and we provided the deficiency. So that he could make connections for the return to Montpelier, he was obliged to depart just as the guests, fifty in all, were arriving. But we had several precious hours of gossip and reminiscence. Our class president, Judge Bingham, Mrs. Bingham, and "Jack" Bingham gave us a satisfactory delegation of 'B7.

Charles Conn has finished his annual vacation at the Farragut Hostel at Portsmouth.

Howland brought- with him all the records of 'B7's college activities, which we expect to read, and then send to the Dartmouth Library.
