The secretary is writing these notes from Dick's House connected with the Mary Hitchcock Hospital.
He enjoys this privilege because he is an alumnus of Dartmouth College, and he is very handsomely housed in anticipation of a minor operation at the beneficent hands of Dr. Bowler. He is receiving swell treatment, surrounded by pretty nurses and given close attention for every want.
One of the physicians has recently given him a very close examination, finding he has a normal blood pressure, sound heart, two lovely kidneys, perfect lungs, and a commendable digestion.
One of the aftermaths of our 60th anniversary is the tone of the letters we have received from those who could not be present. One reads them with very acute appreciation of their loyalty, and how greatly they desire to be with us.
One letter needs a special mention. This is from Winfred Ross who is writing a book which he maintains will revolutionalize human society. He says that it will bring a greater humanity to our facilities, a more sincere love among our fellow men. Let us all pray that he will live to see this wonderful dispensation brought to the attention of the world.
One of the lost classmates, John Dana Bell, who could not be reached by correspondence, has been located at Boise, Idaho, and we now have a permanent address.
Gage has been a trifle under the weather but is now mending, and as far as your Secretary has been able to ascertain, all surviving members of the Class of '87 are in excellent health.
We shall always want the services of Dr.Sanborn and his recommendations whenever we meet again. The dinner he served was the finest that the Class of '87 has sat down to, and the champagne, presumably presented by one of the classmates, was thoroughly appreciated.
