While the basketball team has been holding the Dartmouth sports spotlight during the past month, the College's championship 2-mile relay team has also been garnering laurels for itself. The speedy quartet of Bill Atkinson, Clark Judge, Frank Fox and Captain Don Burnham captured the National A.A.U. title at New York on February 26 in the fast time of 7:50.2, defeating Michigan, the former title-holder, along with a number of other crack college teams. The same Dartmouth foursome took the intercollegiate championship the following week, beating N.Y.U., Navy, Army and Penn in the time of 8:05.5; and then for the third succ essive Saturday, romped away with the 2-mile event at the Knights of Columbus Games in New York, defeating N.Y.U., Colgate and Columbia in the time of 7:56.7.

Harry Hillman's track and field men competed in the indoor intercollegiates in New York on March 4 and took thirdp lace honors behind Army and Navy, who made it practically a dual meet. The Cadets tallied 47 points, Navy 361/9. and Dartmouth 19. Burnham retained his indoor mile crown by winning easily in 4:20.2, and also ran the anchor leg on the victorious relay team. Atkinson's second in the 1000, Fox's fifth in the 600, and Serafim's fourth in the shotput completed the Green scoring. Bill Vessie, intercollegiate high-jump champion via Columbia and a strong contender in the shot, did not comp ete for the Indians because of his transfer to Parris Island at the end of the winter term.
