THE NUGGET ROSE FROM ITS ASHES in a new form when, as described in the Dartmouth Log, a "Websterized Nugget brought much-needed entertainment relief to the College" on the evening of March 10. Except for the absence of peanuts and popcorn and the increased forcefulness of "No Smoking" signs, the atmosphere of the new Nugget in Webster Hall is little different from the old. New projectors and the newest-type RCA sound equipment have been installed, and drapes have improved acoustics. A somewhat smaller screen than the one used in the old Nugget is especially adapted to Webster to prevent neck-craning. A new booth has been erected inside the entrance to Webster, and the sight of people outside standing in line, a phenomenon increasi ng in frequency in Hanover, is not unusual.

Since its opening on March 10 the new Nugget has been busy catching up in the grade-A features which were missed by Hanover movie fans following the destruction of the regular theatre on January 28. As soon as the current film feast is over, there will be movies as usual.

A WEBSTER HALL VERSION OF THE NUGGET went into operation on March 10, following the theatre's destruction by fire late in January. Arthur Barwood, Nugget manager, is shown above selling movie tickets at the new booth in the Webster Hall lobby.
