ON THE EVENING OF TUESDAY, July 10 last, Dartmouth families in Boston renewed what used to be one of the favorite events on their calendar a Dartmouth Evening at the Pops Concert in Symphony Hall. The program included a number of Dartmouth Songs, as well as several of the favorite Pops selections of which phonograph recordings have been made. It always seems to the writer as if the orchestra undertakes the pieces which have been recorded with particular enthusiasm and spirit—and the presence of such numbers on the program always adds to the evening's en joyment.

All good Dartmouth people love to sing, and the singing added much to the evening. Harry McDevitt '07 led the Dartmouth Songs and then, in response to calls from the audience, sang "China Town" as only Harry can sing it. We had hoped to add to the Dartmouth touch by having Bill Cunningham '19 play the organ for this part of the evening, but Bill's trip to Europe made that impossible this year. Here's a hope he will be able to make it another year. Then later in the program the audience had the opportunity to sing a group of old-time favorites with the orchestra, which also was much enjoyed.

All the members of the Executive Committee deserve much credit for the competent management of this ambitious undertaking. Particular thanks are due Ed Shattuck 10, and Howard Stockwell '17, who bore the lion's share of the burden!

Despite the date, well into vacation time, over eleven hundred attended. Next year we hope for a better date, and Dartmouth attendance sufficient to fill the hall!
