Lattimore Lecture

OWEN LATTIMORE, noted authority on the Far East and the son of David Lattimore, Professor Emeritus of History, spoke before a large gathering in Dartmouth Hall on October 10 on "America's New Role in Asia."

Professor Lattimore, a former newspaperman and businessman in China, was from 1941 to 1943 political adviser to Chiang Kai Shek and has recently been department director of Pacific Operations in the OWI. He is the author of numerous books and articles on the Far East and a member of several learned societies.
