COMMANDER CHARLES O. COOK, USN, has been designated as Executive Officer of the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps and V-12 Unit starting at Dartmouth November 1, Captain Cummings, the commanding officer, has announced. Lt. Comdr. Homer Howard, USNR, will serve as the Executive Officer of the Academic Department and Lt. Comdr. L. N. McKenney, USNR, as the Executive Officer of the V-12 element.

Commander Cook is a graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy and came to Dartmouth in September following several months of active sea duty in the recent war. He holds the Bronze Star Medal among other decorations. Lt. Commander Howard, a former teacher and college admin istrative officer, was attached to other V-12 Units before coming to Dartmouth in June to join the faculty of the new Naval Science and Tactics Department. Lt. Commander McKenney has been at Dartmouth since May 1943 as Executive Officer of the V-12 Unit. He was assistant superintendent and headmaster of the Duxbury (Mass.) High School before being commissioned in the Naval Reserve.

Captain Cummings also announced the promotions to the rank of Lieutenant Commander of four of the Lieutenants now assigned to the NROTC and V-12 Unit at the College. The officers promoted are: Lt. Commander Oliver Evans, USNR, who has been with the Unit since 1943 as its Legal Officer; and Lt. Commanders Francis C. Eaton, USNR, Arthur C. Krohn, USNR, and Wayne M. Singer, USNR, all of whom came to the College on July 1 to join the faculty of the Department of Naval Science and Tactics.
