"Our Dan" is broadcasting a strong appeal for a greater contribution to the Alumni Fund, since we will need it if we hope to keep up our fine record of the past.

Dan has suggested that the secretary use this medium for a boost for our highly adored and respected classmate, Charlie Conn. It seems hardly necessary, for we all realize the warm esteem we fee] for him. But it certainly is a gladsome theme,—so herein we raise a "Wah Hoo Wah" (the old-time variety) for him, and the wish for many more years.

"Hope Mission" which has been the devoted work of our classmate, Rev. Carl H. Corwin, at Tampa, Fla., for a great many years, has been promoted to the rank of a Congregational church. Since its establishment in 1935, Corwin's mission has been a bulwark of Christian influence among the Spanish cigar workers. The material rewards to the founder have been meager, but his spiritual message to his charges in schools and to the adult population has been tremendous.

The secretary has received a valued note from Charlie Bickford's widow. Writing of the days immediately preceding his death, she says, "His condition called for constant attention. At the end his passing was peaceful and beautiful. Shortly after he looked just as my dear Bick did before he was taken ill. Your appropriate sketch of him made me very proud and happy. I do think that he tried always to be kind and do good." (The secretary makes a practice of sending a copy of all memorial articles to be corrected, before publication.) Mrs. Bickford's mother is ninety-two years old. She was very ill immediately after "Bick's" death, but is better now. Mrs! Bickford plans to remain in Lewiston, Me.

The secretary has recently delivered his lecture, "The Loves and Lives of Solomon's Wives," in the Little Theatre, Clearwater, and before the Lions' Club. Classmates may remember it was a part of the program at our 45th Reunion.
