Congratulations to Ed Shattuck on his election to the presidency of Boston Alumni Association .... and he'll do 0.K., too.

At the dinner were Jim Lowell, Jess Wilson, Art Lord, Doc Foster, Ed Shattuck, Ray Gorton, Bill Murphy, Irv Jewett, Earle Pierce, Else Jenness, Win Nay and Earl Nelson.

No solution for election of class officers has yet been found. George Theriault just told me that the Treasurers' Association had decided that present class treasurers should be retained for another year until the situation clarifies. .... 1910 can't miss on hard-working, efficient Fletch Burton. We'll keep you advised.

Debby Bankart received considerable publicity in an Infantry Division release from Italy. A year ago one of our young Dartmouth friends, Al McKernan, ran across her in Naples where she was doing Red Cross work. Now she is with the famous mountain ski stars, which is "an outfit so completely rnountainized that even the Red Cross doughnut girl, Deborah Bankart, of Swampscott, Mass., is a former professional ski instructor." In the division are such Dartmouth names as Walter Prager, Johnny Litchfield, Percy Rideout.

The classes of 1910 and 1911 were well represented in the Dartmouth Club Bridge teams that failed to show up first night of the Ivy League Tournament play; forfeited eight points to Cornell, got together next night, ploughed through to finally win the whole affair by half a point.... among the Forfeiters and Garrison Finishers were Joe Kinney, Obbie Coleman, Hal Halstead and Mac Rollins.

Bucky Allen lives at 1060 Beacon St., Brookline Beezle Parker is with Montsanto Chemical at Karnack, Texas Walt Wilson's home is at 400 Patterson, Glendale, Calif. Saw Charlie Bardwell at Rotary meeting in Hanover recently and he looks fit as a king.... he works for War Man-Power in New Hampshire.

Captain Cheever Comey is another alertlooking Tenner Cheever long in the Army is at Cessna plant in Wichita where he is the Army Air Force Representative directly responsible to the commanding general for carrying out AAF supervision previously he was stationed at Kansas and Tulsa.

Youngsters Rev. John Coleman has his own church, St. Timothy's Chapel in Washington. His youngest sister Carol finishes at Green Mountain Junior College this year, while his other two sisters, Ruth and Janet, live with Father Obbie at New Rochelle, their husbands being in the service, one with Patton in Europe. Muriel Kent, Mt. Holyoke '44, is engaged to Ensign Lawrence A. Graham, Maine '43. Fred Perry, Dartmouth '44, has not returned to Buenos Aires' he works for First National in Boston and was married February 3 to Virginia M. Bousquet of Worcester. Betsy Bankart, Smith College senior, has passed all flying tests, is now certified to £y anything except a transport. Betsy has done a fine scholastic job in college and is now house president. Chan Baxter plugs eternally for Hanover .... he and wife have a seven year old boy living with them. He came to spend a week, got the measles, has been there ever since. When Chan tried to high-pressure the lad about Dartmouth, the youngster announced that he didn't want to go to Dartmouth because he couldn't come home nights and that he would go to Stadium High School instead.

Thayer and Dorothy Smith have done a highly commendable work in bringing up their splendid family of six sons and three daughters something which can be envied by many a father and mother in these times .... a large, truly Christian family living a sane, wholesome life is the story. The war has interfered with some of the plans but when it is over, the soldier sons will pick up where they left off in civilion life.

Thayer Jr. following in the footsteps of his grandfather, uncle (Morris '07) and father is finishing his second year at Dartmouth Medical. Malcolm is a tail-gunner on a B-24 in Italy Peter captained football, graduated from Holderness last June, is now in Infantry. Robert and Donald are at Holderness, with the former, not to be outdone by Malcolm, winning the football captaincy. Dorothy lives at home, commutes to Rudolf Steiner School in New York. Betsy, Susan and eight-year-old Sammy are in school at home.

Summers are spent in the family camp at Lake Memphremagog frequent visits and the new generation in College have maintained contacts with Dartmouth and Hanover, the paternal home. Thayer and Dorothy are as vigorous and well as ever; "thankful for their faith," expresses Thayer, "that no matter what storms and darkness are without, within is the Eternal Light that guides us all on our way."

Let's not forget that 1910's talented class agent has a whale of a job to do this spring .... no Reunion with a $100,000 all-time objective to reach .... Andy Scarlett will make it if anyone can .... but he will need plenty of help from everyone.... and he merits it.
