NEW LUSTRE .... 1910's escutcheon seems to•gain a new splendor from time to time asmembers of the Class advance in life's path.... each month brings forth published stories and articles about Tenners, any one ofwhich rates full publication.

How many members of the Class ever knewthat Frank Meleney made it possible forthe late Alexander Woollcott's protegee FrodeJensen, the young Dane, to enter medicalschool .... it's a story of human interest, partof which the New York Herald Tribune ranin a special article. Frank is that kind of afellow.

The Christian Science Monitor ran a double column photo and story on Julius Warren, the new commissioner of education in Massachusetts ... .Julius knows his education, can discuss all angles and rates all of the nice things that have been written about him.... and will be written.

Gay Gleason, casualty insurance big-wig extraordinary, gets pictured and praised and publicised .... but he remains the same old Guy of college days .... quiet, unassuming, kindly and very able the latest is a twocolumn story in The Eastern Underwriter.

Emily Cheney "Only Human" New York Daily Mirror space was filled with Clarke Tobin's picture and business story Clarke sat at his desk, pipe in one hand, specs in the other, that famous, old smile of sincere friendliness on his face. It referred to his grade labelling and human rights speech before a Congressional committee .... which we all applauded. Tobe always was, and still is tops as a fellow.

Walter Norton's fame and ability have spread so far that the Coast Shoe Reporter of San Francisco devoted a full page to his business career that ran from stock clerk with U. S. Rubber 30 years ago to present headingup of the huge U. S. footwear division

English High football, baseball, hockey star .... working his way through Dartmouth waiting on table and reporting for SpringfieldRepublican .... baseball captain .... Phi Beta Kappa it's all there, and more deservedly.

February 21 Life in a feature story about Morris Ernst, described Herb Wolff's law firm .... Greenbaum, Wolff & Ernst.... 13 pardners staff of 45 40 rooms at 285 Madison Ave., N. Y. C annual income but we'll let you dig that out for yourself Herb met Ernst at bar exams, persuaded him to enter the new law firm, and they've done quite all right for themselves Herb is a swell fellow, as you all know. Any one of these Tenners and their stories deserve our entire space Frank Meleney .... Julius Warren .... Gay Gleason Clarke Tobin .... Walter Norton .... Herb W01ff.... but anyway, it was great to know them "when "

Just had a letter from the Feuding Penman, Pineo Jackson was the most beautifully written letter that boy has done since he graduated from the old vertical type in Montpelier he claims, and I could read it, "Did you ever think of cleaning your glasses (eye) and having a doctor examine your optics? I believe that you are suffering from the North Stratford squint." .... The duck-hunting Insurance Tycoon tried to get Ben Williams to side in vs. your secretary but the Famous Author honestly admitted that, at times, he was puzzled over his own hieroglyphics.... which reminds me that only yesterday one of my associates handed me a slip to decipher .... I couldn't.... it was my own.

Let's give Andy Scarlett all the help we can in his Alumni Fund work this spring.... it's his inning he deserves everything we can do to make his job easier for that Chemistry Dept. is taking a beating in Hanover along with some others and Andy's extradepartment labors are no minor affairs, either .... he is not the type who ducks when there's a task to be done.
