RICHARD E. PRITCHARD '14, president of the Stanley Works of New Britain, Conn., has been elected to the five-man Board of Overseers of the Thayer School of Engineering. Nominated by the Dartmouth Society of Engineers, he fills the vacancy on the Board caused by the death of the late Charles R. Main '07, Boston engineer.
Mr. Pritchard has long been prominent in Dartmouth alumni affairs, serving as a member of the Dartmouth Alumni Council from 1934 to 1938, the last two years as President, and as President of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Connecticut in 1934 to 1935. He has been associated with the Stanley Works ever since leaving the Thayer School in 1915, with the exception of a period spent in military service during World War I. He was named president of the company in 1941.
