THIRTEEN DARTMOUTH MEN and women attended the annual meeting of the Dartmouth Club of Tucson on March 8. After cocktails at the secretary's home and dinner at the Studio Patio, the business of gathering was incorporated into the following resolution:

Whereas, Dartmouth alumni in the more thinly Dartmouth-populated sections of the country seem to prefer to take in large chunks of territory as, for example, Los Angeles, here with more than one eye on their basic industry, real-estate they meet under the mouth-filling name of Dartmouth Alumni Association of Southern California and

Whereas, as could be expected, our own typically mid-western capital, Phoenix, with a sluggishness that is only natural because of the greater humidity in that community due to innumerable irrigation ditches, has not yet formed any association of Dartmouth alumni, and this despite the fact that Charlie Milham '06, prolific propagator of Dartmouth Clubs was resident in this state of Arizona for three winters (which gives you an idea of how difficult it is to get anything started in Phoenix), and

Whereas, there is more than reasonable hope that with improving transportation conditions we can draw on all Dartmouth men residing in the youngest and best state of the Union, meeting at diverse points within its scenic scope when such rarities as tires and gas again become available; inviting Prexy Hopkins or the deans or the coaches or all of them—as we now do—to address us; and enticing the ski-team of 1946 and later years to demonstrate its skill on our snow-bound but sunkissed slopes during winter vacations, be it resolved

First that the name of the Dartmouth Uub ot Tucson' be changed to the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Arizona; Second, that this association embrace not only all alumni of Dartmouth in the state of Arizona, but also those in the adjacent state of Sonora of our neighboring republic, Mexico, which will traditionally call for a toast in tequilla;

Third, that Rev. George Ferguson 21 and Robert Fish 'lB, continue to serve as provisional president and secretary, respectively, of the new association until improving conditions make possible the call for another meeting and a more democratic election; . Fourth and finally, that these resolutions be unanimously approved (as they were) after appropriate and inevitable debate.
