By the time you read this the Big Green will have rebounded from a dismal start of the season to defeat Princeton on a frozen field in Hanover because Princeton’s big back couldn’t get the footing he needed and Fielder passed their secondary silly. Somalia will have been secured with United Nations and Russian volunteers and Haiti will have been annexed by Cuba. Our health will have been insured by the Defense Department, and all 18-year olds will be in national-service health care to keep the costs down. Gas will be at $2.10 per gallon to pay for all this and Hillary will have just lighted the National Christmas Tree. And who says there isn’t a Santa Claus?

Boodge Erwin gets some socks for his answers to my freshman quiz. Chick Evans was his B-ball coach, and their record was 8-3. The A-Team was 6-2 with both losses to Tom Heinsohn and Holy Cross, while the B - Team was 2-1. Libby also gets some socks for getting Boodge to write.

Zock recendy returned from Beijing, Nan- jing, Bangkok, and Hong Kong where he was in search of the Great Economic Truth. Not finding it, and unable to retire, he is back in harness at Cal State in Hayward, trying to lay up enough money to make it east for our 40th.

Try to make it to Cube’s Fun City Fan- tastic in New York starting January 28. Class meeting Friday afternoon, class dinner Fri- day night, another fun dinner Saturday night, and a fine brunch on Sunday will make it a vital weekend for all. Call Cube at (802) 295- 2098 for details and reservations.

Best wishes of the Holiday Season and a Happy New Year to all the stalwart members of the fine class of 1956. Special thanks to LineSpaulding and Bill Behrens for their input to this column this year. The nicest Christ- mas present that I could ask for would be to hear from more of you in 1994.
