DR. HAROLD W. STOKE, recently inaugurated President of the University of New Hampshire, spoke at Dartmouth on March 12 in the first lecture of a series sponsored jointly by the Hanover Chapter of Americans United and the College Lecture Committee on issues of world organization. President Stoke's talk preceded the Hanover Town Meeting at which a ballot vote was cast on the general issue of United States membership in a world organization having police power to keep the peace. Hanover supported such membership by a vote of 369 to 2.

President Stoke is the author of The Foreign Relations of the Federal State, published in 1931, and before his inauguration at the University of New Hampshire had been Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Nebraska, and Assistant Dean at Wisconsin.
