THE FIRST BUSINESS of the March 6 meeting was the nomination of a member to represent this area on the Alumni Council. Ted Stafford '11, has served wisely and well for two terms, but under the regulations is ineligible for re-election. The nominating com- mittee: Henry P. Blair '89, Warren Kendall '99, George M. Morris '11, Ted Stafford '11, N. F. Johnson '21 and H. H. Harwood '26 presented the name of Frederick L. Pearce '15 to the meeting. The nomination was unanimously confirmed.
Pres. A. Howard Meneely of Wheaton College spoke to the Club at the same meeting. His terse and considered comments on the liberal college and Dartmouth and Wheaton in particular were unusually well received. President Meneely spoke of his debt to President Hopkins for the opportunity to observe and absorb some of his qualities of leadership of thought and administration during the 15 years he was at Dartmouth. If his talk may be taken as in point the results of their oration are certainly worth while. Several of us present decided that if we ever had a daughter going to college Wheaton might be next to Dartmouth.
Plans for the Spring Dinner are in progress and there is every expectation that it will be as good as usual.
