THE NEWLY-FORMED DARTMOUTH NAVY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION in response to its first membership drive now has over 500 members. Early returns came from men still in the Unit at Dartmouth, but A/S Fred Pfau, West Roxbury, Mass., treasurer of the association and director of the membership drive, reports that former trainees are now joining the new alumni group in large numbers.
The first issue of the association's news-letter, Soundings, appeared in April and it is planned to continue publishing the Dartmouth Navy Alumni Magazine, the first number of which was sent out to all members and graduates of the Unit in January. A/S Max Pry or of Chicago has been elected secretary-chairman of the Navy alumni group, to serve until the first postwar reunion.
Membership dues of $3.00 cover the association's first year ending June go, 1946, and in addition to providing for all the privileges of Dartmouth alumni clubs and programs include a year's subscription to the Navy Alumni Magazine and the DNAA newsletter.
