DARTMOUTH MEN OF the Pacific northwest gathered at the home of Sam Barnes '07 on Friday, May 11, to partake of a friendly bottle of beer and enjoy the renewal of old friendships. After the clan had gathered and "hellos" had been said, our venerable president, Superior Court Judge James W. Hodson '29, called an informal meeting to order. He suggested that since we officers had been some- what inactive in the past year and a half since our election (due largely to the limitation on travel), the club might well choose new officers. John'Mauk '24 countered with the proposal that we should be given a chance to redeem ourselves, and so the matter stands.

Alumni Councilman Fred Shaneman '24 was asked to describe the "Vocational Program" and he cordially assented. In a half hour of very interesting discussion he told of Don Cameron and the work he has done, and also described the procedure followed in handling all requests for help from our alumni.

Present were most of our old "stand-bys" in the northwest, and also the following very welcome men from the services: Captain F. H. Hardy '04, George Munroe '43, Jack Devoe '41, Bob Nissen '41 and Allan Browne '45.

On Sunday, August 5, we are planning to hold our annual picnic at Fred Shaneman's home on the east shore of Gravelly Lake—between Ft. Lewis and Tacoma. We are hoping and planning for a large turn-out of Dartmouth men and their families, and will bend every effort to try to let these service men in the area know of our gathering.

We are maintaining a listing with the telephone company under the name of Dartmouth Alumni Association so that new arrivals in town can get in touch with our group.
