TWENTY-NINE MEMORIAL FUND chairmen and their associates gathered November 27 at the Dartmouth Club in New York for a dinner and an evening of discussion about common problems. Since this was the first meeting of the group there was a great deal of interest in comparing notes and meeting other men who had solved problems that some had yet to face.
Those present were: John Hinman '08, John Sterling '11, Charlie Griffith '15, Roswell Magill '16, Jib Dingwall '16, Bob Scott '17, Dave Garratt '18, Win Batchelder '19, Spider Martin '19, Dutch Bausher '21, Hal Braman '21, Cliff Hart '21, Frank Horan '22. Irish Flailigan '23, Clarence Goss '23, John Moore '23, Bob Borwell '25, Bob Archibald '25, Sid Hayward '26, Russ Newcomb '26, Paul Kruming '28, Phil Orsi '28, Bud French '30, Fred Page '30, Charlie McAllister '31, Hank Richmond '3l, Howie Pierpont '32, Marty Dwyer '34, and George. Colton '35.
Mr. Batchelder, chairman of the Alumni Council Class Gifts Committee, acted as toastmaster for the occasion, and Mr. Martin, former chairman, who occupied the center place at the speakers' table, reviewed the early history of the Funds. He was followed by George Colton, the execu- tive secretary of the Funds, and then by Mr. Hayward, who emphasized the distino tive importance to College finances of the sums being produced through class efforts on the Memorial Funds.
The remainder of the meeting was devoted to open discussion, led by comments from Dutch Bausher, Clarence Goss, Bob Borwell, Dave Garratt, and Charlie Griffith.
