Dr. George P. Borglum '26 has recently been named chairman of the French department in Wayne University's College of Liberal Arts, Detroit, Michigan, according to an announcement by Dr. Victor A. Rapport, dean of the College. The appointment was effective for the semester beginning in September.

Until assuming his duties at Wayne, Dr. Borglum had been associated with the Office of International Information and Cultural Affairs of the U. S. Department of State. At the outset of the war he was an associate professor of French at Russell Sage College in Troy, N. Y.

In addition to his bachelor of science degree from Dartmouth, Dr. Borglum is also a Ph.D. from Yale in 1939. Before going to Russell Sage, he served successively on the staffs of the University of Omaha, the University of Minnesota, Yale University and Amherst College. He also served as consular representative for the French government in the states of Nebraska and Minnesota.
