George H. Colton '35, Alumni Fund Associate during the past year, has been named Executive Secretary of the Alumni Council's Fund Committee, succeeding Albert I. Dickerson '30, recently appointed Director of Admissions. In addition to serving as executive head of the Fund, Mr. Colton will continue as executive secretary of the Council's Committee on Class Gifts.
Before joining the administrative staff of the College last year, Mr. Colton had ten years of business experience. For five years after graduation he was an accountant with the Spool Cotton Company of New York, and for the next two years he served as assistant to the general manager of the Stowell-MacGregor Corporation in Dixfield, Me. From 1942 to 1945 he was with the Western Electric Company in New York as a supervisor of sub-contracting and made his home in Chatham, N. J.
As a Dartmouth undergraduate, Mr. Colton had the exceptional record of being a Phi Beta Kappa scholar, Senior Fellow, president of Pa'aeopitus, varsity football manager, and president of Green Key. He is a member of Phi Gamma Delta and Casque and Gauntlet and also belonged to Cabin and Trail. He has been Alumni Fund Class Agent for 1935 and in 1938-39 he served as class secretary.
