THE Dartmouth Club of Central Ohio held its annual picnic on Monday, September 9, at the country grounds of the City Club of Columbus.

Rain, which had held off for four weeks, started to fall just as the first cars arrived and continued until darkness, eliminating the scheduled baseball games and horseshoe pitching.

The rain which dampened the athletic activities did not hamper the card playing. Two full tables of poker and a table of bridge kept everyone well occupied.

A very delicious dinner was arranged by Jim Andrews '45. Ground arrangements were made by Bob McClure '29, and Ed Atkinson '29 took care of the beer. Gerry Baron '10, Club President, served as chairman of the picnic.

We were glad to welcome Herbert Duffy '20, George Babcock '24 and Dr. Ben Houghton '30 to our Club and hope to see them at future meetings. The picnic also gave us an opportunity to meet Tom Sours and Roger Gaylord, both entering Dartmouth this fall as freshmen.
