THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES held its annual fall meeting at the College on October 25 and as a major item of business reviewed and approved the budget for the fiscal year 1946-47. Operating costs are expected to reach a new high in Dartmouth's history. The Trustees approved routine matters related to the faculty and the award of degrees and also heard special reports on the proposed new plan of student government and on revised rules and regulations governing the relation of undergraduates to the College. The Bachelor of Arts degree was voted to 169 men, Bachelor of Science to two, and the Bachelor of Naval Science to 16.

Standing committees of the Trustees for 1946-47 were announced by President Dickey as follows:

Executive Committee—John R. McLane '07, chairman; President Dickey, Edward S. French '06, Dr. John F. Gile '16.

Committee on Degrees William W. Grant '03, chairman; President Dickey, Dudley W. Orr '29, Nelson A. Rockefeller '30, Beardsley Ruml '15.

Committee on Investments Victor M. Cutter '03, chairman; President Dickey, Mr. McLane, Mr. French, William J. Minsch '07, Harvey P. Hood '18.

Committee on Physical Development and Maintenance of the Plant Mr. French, chairman; President Dickey, the Treasurer of the College, Dr. Gile, Mr. Hood.
