THE DARTMOUTH CLUB of Rochester held its Christmas luncheon in honor of the undergraduates at the University Club on December 27. Members of seventeen classes spanning the years from 1893 to 1949 were in attendance. There was a distinct "service veteran" tinge among the representatives of the younger classes. Those who weren't in uniform topped off the luxury of mismatching trousers and coat with a gleaming discharge emblem which fitted its lapel better than did the apparel fit some of its wearers. Rochester may be the home of the men's suit industry, but if a man can find a suit in any store to fit himself, he may ascribe his good fortune to coincidence,—subject to neither the laws of nature nor to the OPA.
President Harry Holmlund '24 welcomed the Dartmouth undergraduates, and the candidates for Dartmouth, who were included in the group of thirty-three in attendance. A spirited discussion about contemporary college life in Hanover ensued when the undergraduates consented to answer questions about Hanover. Adept and agile were their answers, and no question of whatever type was parried. The meeting broke up when a few of the men became conscious-stricken about the hour,- but all agreed that it had been a very enjoyable meeting,—a meeting favored by the return of many young faces.
