Summer Term
August 1946

FOR THE POSTWAR special summer session for G.I. students which started July 15 the total enrollment figure is 876, according to Registrar Robert O. Conant '13.

Of the total, 515 are returning men who were enrolled at Dartmouth during the past semester or previous semesters, and 235 are new veterans bringing the undergraduate figure to 750. In the associated schools, there are 126 men studying at the Tuck School of Business Administration, 26 of whom are new enrollees, and there are two students at the Medical School who have been given special permission by the College to do summer work.

On the distaff side, there are 150 married Gls who are summer term students, and they are housed in three dormitories, Middle and South Fayerweather and Lord Halls. Starting with the summer term, the FPHA housing units at Wigwam Circle were opened for the married students, and the college-built development, Sachem Village, now has half of its 48 units occupied.
