Alumni Dinners
January 1947

PRESIDENT DICKEY returned to Hanover in mid-December after a month's absence on an alumni speaking tour to eleven cities in the Far West and Southwest. His schedule for the coming month calls for three more appearances at annual alumni dinners in Pittsburgh, Chicago and St. Louis.

The Pittsburgh meeting will be held at the University Club on January 23, with Edwin C. Chinlund '29, club secretary, in charge. The large Chicago dinner will be held at the Palmer House on January 25 and will coincide with the midyear meeting of the Alumni Council in Chicago on January 24-25. Donald MacKay '20 is secretary of the Chicago Association. Following the Alumni Council sessions, President Dickey will go to St. Louis to meet with the alumni there on January 27. C. Landon Martin '41, club secretary, is handling the arrangements.

The single alumni engagement scheduled for President Dickey in February is the annual dinner of the Boston Alumni Association. This affair, which last year drew nearly a thousand Dartmouth men, will be held at the Copley Plaza on February 26.

Five other dinner meetings in January will take College representatives to Columbus, Detroit, Cleveland, Toledo, and Grand Rapids. Sidney C. Hayward '26, Secretary of the College, will appear in Columbus on January 21. William C. Brown '33 is secretary for this gathering at the Columbus Club. On. January 22, Mr. Hayward and Donald W. Cameron '35, Associate in Placement, will be guest speakers at a Dartmouth dinner in Detroit. Two other dinners on the same night, January 22, will take Dean Lloyd K. Neidlinger '23 to Cleveland and George H. Colton '35, executive secretary of the Alumni Fund, to Toledo. Mr. Cameron will make another appearance, in Grand Rapids on January 23, before attending the Alumni Council meetings.

Last month, Dean Stearns Morse was guest of honor at a luncheon meeting of Dartmouth alumni in Concord, N. H., on December 26.
