This choice holiday greeting from one of our highly esteemed and distinguished classmates is herein contributed so that it may be preserved:
"Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth"
The prophet sang, "before the evil days"; Yet, after four-score years have gone their ways, "I have no pleasure in age" belies the truth. A thousand pathways lead to my abode From out a world of nature all around; 1 love the scent of fragrant flowers, the sound Of music and voices sweet in many an ode; The lights from sun and stars above me shine, Revealing Cosmic mysteries Divine. Besides, one sense is mine, unseen but known, Whereby I feel the love of dear ones gone; And, too, the Father from His home above Yet speaks to me of boundless life and love.
Dr. Frank Parkhurst Brackett, D.Sc., is the author. He is living a happy existence on Balboa Island in the Pacific. There with a throng of cheerful memories he is constantly writing his memories of a very useful and delightful life.
It is not inappropriate to add that the lives of all the seventeen survivors of the class, are living happily and usefully. There is " 'Postle" Morse, making gadgets and puzzles for his friends—and John Dana Bell (would you believe it?) has become entirely domesticated and is a great help about his home.
Our Christmas day was brightened by a call from Gage. He looked so fresh and tempting that the secretary kissed him on the cheek! He did not collapse.
"Sonny" appears to be about twenty years younger than he should. His personality has been enhanced by the possession of many urbanities.
"Jigger" and Doctor Sanborn are among our most frequent correspondents. "Jigger" is our eldest, but his letters belie the fact. Sanborn, we are informed, does nine holes of golf every day.
The secretary, early this month, delivered his new lecture, "The March of Optimism Down Through the Ages" before the Clear- water Society of Arts and Sciences.
