February 1947

The annual dinner meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Boston will be held at the Copley Plaza Hotel on Wednesday evening, February 26, with President Dickey as guest of honor and principal speaker. Frank B. Wallis '25, a leading member of the U. S. staff of prosecutors at the Nuremburg trials, will also be a speaker of the evening. The Wheelock Tavern in the Copley will open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:15. Last year nearly a thousand Dartmouth alumni turned out to welcome President Dickey and the officers of the Boston Association are laying plans for another record crowd.

Dinner meetings in early March will take Prof. Stearns Morse, Dean of Freshmen, to three Dartmouth alumni centers. He will address the Long Island (N. Y.) Dartmouth Club on the evening of March 4, the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Philadelphia on March 6, and the Dartmouth Alumni Club of Wilmington, Delaware, on March 7.

Dean Lloyd K. Neidlinger will also make an alumni appearance in March, addressing the Dartmouth Alumni Association of the Great Divide at Denver on the evening of March 11. Dean Neidlinger's Denver visit will be made in conjunction with his trip to Sun Valley with his twin daughters, Sally and Sue, who, following their outstanding performances in the women's Eastern ski championships, will be competing in the national events likely to settle the personnel of the U. S. Women's Olympic Team for 1948.

The annual dinners of Alumni Fund class agents are also scheduled for March. Agents from the New York area will meet at the Dartmouth Club on March 19 and on the following night the class agents of the Boston area will gather. The third of these Alumni Fund dinners will be held in Chicago on March 27. Speakers at the dinner meetings will include President Dickey; Richard A. Hoi ton '18, chairman of the Alumni Council's Fund committee; and George H. Colton '35, executive secretary of the Fund.
