Dartmouth College, a 48-page booklet describing the purposes, traditions, and the general character of the College, has been published recently and is now on sale. Copies of the booklet, which contains many attractive photographs, may be secured at $1.00 upon application to The Bursar, Hanover, N. H.

The brochure represents a revision of a former publication similar in nature, which was also sold locally and distributed free of charge to applicants for admission and to secondary schools wishing to have more information concerning the College than could be obtained from the catalog. The present booklet is published in behalf of the Dartmouth Alumni Council. Under the heading, "The Liberal Arts College," the following statement of the purpose of the book is given: "For the information and guidance of prospective students and others this book is published in behalf of the Alumni Council: To define what is the purpose of the College what qualities best recommend an applicant from among the many more hundreds who apply for admission each year than can be accepted—what is the story of the present Dartmouth life, the new curriculum, the scholastic standards, the corps of understanding teachers, the environment found in Hanover, and the extra-curricular activities —what makes up the physical plant and what is its relation to Dartmouth's high purpose—the place of recreational and intercollegiate athletics in Dartmouth life—the effect of New Hampshire's hills and the outof-doors on Dartmouth men—the building of the 'Dartmouth Spirit.'

The publication is illustrated with photographs of Dartmouth buildings and scenes. The photographs were supplied by Paul J. Weber, architectural photographer of Boston, and L. L. Richards '30. The art work, which goes far to make Dartmouth College the distinctive publication it is, was done by Abner J. Epstein '31. The booklet is one which is especially valuable to applicants for admission, and their parents, in providing information concerning the College. It is also a publication which all alumni would enjoy seeing and having available to show to friends who may be interested in Dartmouth.
