A NEW 16mm. colored sound film, GreenFlashback, has been completed by the College and is now available for rental by alumni groups, it was announced last month by J. Blair Watson Jr., director of Dartmouth College Films. In its 20-minute showing the new film presents the highlights of Dartmouth life immediately before, during and after the war, with emphasis on the College's return to peacetime pursuits. It makes use of the best parts of colored movies taken in recent years for just such a film and has been shaped into a coherent whole with a great deal of new material taken by Adrian Bouchard, College staff photographer. In addition to reviewing the war period on campus, GreenFlashback includes shots of President Dickey, President Emeritus Hopkins, the first postwar commencement, alumni reunions, new housing developments, DOC activities, and 1946 football flashes.

Dartmouth College Films is also offering Winter Sports Weekend, a 10-minute sound color film, and Big Green Scrapbook Of1946, a two-reel football film. GreenFlashback rents for $6 and the other two films for $3 each. All three, providing a Dartmouth film program lasting 50 minutes, may be rented for $10. Bookings may be arranged by writing to Dartmouth College Films, Baker Library, Hanover, N. H.

Both commentary and Dartmouth music are provided on the Green Flashback sound track. The narration was written and recorded by three undergraduates: Robert C. Delacey '49 of Chicago, Walter J. Fultz '46, of Wollaston, Mass., and Frank R. Hill Jr. '47 of Manchester, N. H. The new film had its first alumni showing at the annual dinner meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Chicago on January 24. A Hanover showing in 105 Dartmouth Hall was held January 23 as part of the regular weekly program offered by Dartmouth College Films under Mr. Watson's direction.
